GCPO check kicks off new Town Watch program

The Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office and the Deptford Township Police Department, partners in a long standing GCPO law enforcement and civic anti-crime organization, today presented a $500 start-up check to a new Town Watch organization for the Lakebridge retirement community located off Cooper St. in Deptford, NJ.

All new Town Watch organizations in Gloucester County may apply for $500 initial grants for equipment and supplies and $250 annual continuing operations. The funding comes from money seized in criminal investigations.

Noting that the Lakebridge seniors are the newest in Deptford to help their own community stay safe, Deptford Police Department Chief Daniel Murphy said the development's Town Watch will appear on the township website and in its newsletter "as a new partner in our Anti-Crime Partership initiative."
